National hydration day, so we asked our ambassadors about what their fluid intake is like. Here are their responses…

Every morning I have a teaspoon of raw apple cider vinegar with half a litre of water and a green tea. Throughout the day I’ll drink 3-4 litres of water as well as a few cups of green tea spread out throughout the day.

I’d love to say that everyone has to have at least a litre of water for every 20 kg of their body weight. Therefore an average male with 70 kg should consume 3.5 litres of water daily. It might sound a lot but it is not really. Water is tremendously important but other liquids could hydrate as well. I try to avoid fizzy drinks but happily flavouring my water with sugar-free squash. Herbal tea is also a good alternative. During hot summer days, an ice cold peppermint tea with some lime and a hint of sweetener would be my choice.

It’s been so warm the last week or so it has been easy to drink lots of water! At the beginning of the year I made a pledge to drink more water and since I found out I was pregnant it’s played a bigger part in my general health and fitness. Alongside water, I’ve also had smoothies – mainly using frozen berries and occasionally with grains to give me a boost of energy. Once my new baby has arrived I’ll swap the smoothies for a glass of wine!

I keep myself well hydrated throughout the day by having a lot of fluids, mostly water, but ice is a great hydrator so I also have a lot of ice pops with sugar and colour in them – especially in warm weather.

I tend to be always thirsty, so I would say on average I have around 4-5 litres a day. On top of this is have 3 shakes a day and if I’m still thirsty I drink squash!

At least 4 litres of water a day for me! And then I also have pre workout fluids, intra workout fluids and a shake post workout and pre bed.

I have not far off 6 litres of water a day, usually lemon and lime infused. I add shakes to my day too…2 whey shakes and 2 casein but I make those with milk and not water.
